Indian Cricketers who Retired in 2018.

Many Indian Cricketers Retired from International Cricket and Domestic Cricket in 2018.Some of them had “No Motivation Left” while others said “their time was up”.Most of them last played for India long ago. Let us have a look at some of those cricketers and when they last played for India.

1. Mohammed Kaif. 

Mohammad Kaif Played 13 Tests and 145 ODIs for India but will always be remembered for his match winning knock of 87 runs in the 2002 Natwest Trophy Final against England. He last played for India in 2006 but continued to play first class cricket for Uttar Pardesh and Chattisgarh. He retired 12 years after he last played and international match. He said “When I started playing Cricket,the dream was to play in the India Cap one day.Have been very fortunate to step on to the field & represent my country on 190 days of my life.”

2. RP Singh.

RP Singh represented India in 14 Tests, 58 ODI’s and 10 T20I’s in his entire career.He was one of the heroes of India’s 2007 World T20 triumph. He last played an international game for India 7 years ago in 2011 but continued to play Domestic Cricket for Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. He wrote “My body reminds me I am an old man who needs to make way for the young”.

 

3. Praveen Kumar.

Praveen Kumar played six Tests, 68 ODIs and 10 T20Is for India, picking up 112 wickets across the formats.He played a crucial role in India’s CB Series Triumph in Australia in 2007 and performed well in India England Series in 2011 and got his name on the Lords Honour Boards for his 5 wicket haul. He said “My time is over and I have accepted it. I’m happy and thankful to god for giving me this chance.” as hi said Good Bye. His last Appearance for India came way back in 2012 almost 6 years ago.

4. Subramaniam Badrinath.

Subramaniam Badrinath represented India in all three formats of the game – two Tests, seven ODIs and a solitary T20I in 2010 and 2011. He last played for India 7 Years Ago.He was the mainstay of Tamil Nadu Batting line up for 18 years and Played over 100 Games for CSK in IPL. He said he had “lost the motivation to carry on”.

 

5. Sreenath Arvind.

Sreenath Arvind played just 1 t20 international for India in 2015 against South Africa but he was a part of Karnataka bowling line up for almost a Decade. He also Featured in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2011 to 2017 but went Unsold in the 2018 auction. He played his only international match 3 years ago and while signing off he said “I didn’t want to block the progress of any talented player.”

6. Munaf Patel.

Munaf Patel played 13 Tests, 70 ODIs and three T20Is for the team India and picked up 125 internatonal wickets.He played an important role in India’s World Cup Triumph in 2011 where he took 11 wickets in the Tournament. He last played for India in 2011 almost 7 years ago. He once used to earn 35 rupees a day in a tile factory and said that being a world cup winner was Highest point in His career. He said “there is no motivation left” and “There is no regret; after all the cricketers I played with have retired,”.

7. Parvinder Awana.

Parvinder Awana played only 2 T20 International matches for India in 2012 however he spearheaded the Delhi Pace attack for years, he was a integral part of Kings 11 Punjab in the Ipl. Its been close to 6 years since he last played for India. He said its time now to make way for youngsters. He said he wants to be a coach in Future and give back to the game.
